Skincare
Personalized skincare in Scottsdale with Dr. Victoria Aimé focuses on selecting effective ingredients and treatments based on your skin, concerns, and goals, including over-the-counter, prescription, or compounded options when appropriate.

Effective skincare is less about choosing a particular brand or product line and more about selecting ingredients that address your specific skin concerns. Acne, pigmentation, redness, dryness, sun damage, fine lines, and changes in skin texture may each respond to different ingredients or combinations of treatments.
During your consultation, your skin, current products, areas of concern, previous treatments, and goals are reviewed. Recommendations may include readily available skincare products, prescription medications, or compounded formulations depending on the ingredients and concentrations that make sense for your skin. This allows the skincare plan to be based on what the product contains and what it is intended to accomplish rather than whether it carries a particular label or is sold through a physician's office.
Some concerns may also benefit from treatments such as chemical peels or microneedling, while others may not respond adequately to skincare alone. When appropriate, skincare can be incorporated into a broader treatment plan or used before and after certain procedures to support skin health.
A skincare routine does not need to be complicated or expensive to be effective. The goal is to identify which ingredients are useful for your skin, how to use them appropriately, and where skincare has limitations so that your routine is both practical and purposeful.

Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve gathered answers to some of the most common questions our patients ask about this procedure. Whether you’re just starting your research or preparing for surgery, this section is here to help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
A: We believe in building a strong foundation before adding extras. Most patients benefit from a core regimen that includes:
- A retinoid to support cellular turnover and collagen
- A gentle exfoliant to refine texture
- A high-quality vitamin C antioxidant serum
- A moisturizer suited to your skin type
- A broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30 (for all 365 days per year, rain or shine on any exposed skin)
These products work synergistically to protect, correct, and maintain healthy skin. From there, we can layer in targeted treatments as needed, based on your goals and concerns.
While we don’t currently stock a large in-office inventory, we’re happy to drop-ship recommended products directly to you. This keeps the process convenient while giving you access to medical-grade formulations that are often not available over the counter.
We focus more on ingredients and formulation quality than brand loyalty. Our recommendations are based on what’s scientifically effective, well-tolerated, and appropriate for your unique skin needs — not on vendor contracts. As our skincare program evolves, we may expand our offerings, but the foundation will always be personalized care over product pushing.
Some over-the-counter products can be effective, especially when thoughtfully selected. However, medical-grade products typically contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, and are more likely to deliver noticeable, lasting results. We’ll help you understand where it’s worth investing and where you can keep it simple.
We’ll assess your skin, lifestyle, and goals during your consultation and design a custom regimen tailored to you. Your plan may shift with the seasons, hormone changes, or procedure timing — and we’re here to adjust it with you.
We recommend applying your products from thinnest to thickest consistency to maximize absorption and effectiveness. Here’s a simple order to follow:
- Cleanser – Start with a gentle cleanse, morning and night.
- Toner (if using) – Optional, depending on skin type.
- Serums (like Vitamin C or hyaluronic acid) – These lightweight formulas go on first.
- Retinoids – Only apply at night, after serums but before moisturizer.
- Moisturizer – Locks in hydration and supports skin barrier function.
- Sunscreen (AM only) – Always the last step in your morning routine, even on cloudy days or when indoors near windows.
We’ll guide you on how often to use each product and how to introduce new ingredients gradually to avoid irritation. Small tweaks in your routine can make a big impact on results.
