Face Lift & Neck Lift
A facelift and neck lift are powerful cosmetic procedures designed to restore a more youthful, refreshed appearance by tightening sagging skin, redefining the jawline, and smoothing the neck. These procedures target visible signs of aging in the lower face and neck, offering long-lasting, natural-looking results.

A facelift (rhytidectomy) and neck lift are surgical procedures that address loose skin, deep creases, and loss of definition in the lower face, jawline, and neck. The goal is not to change your identity, but to help you look more rested, refined, and youthful — without looking overdone.
Dr. Aimé uses advanced techniques to reposition deep tissues, tighten the underlying muscular structure (SMAS layer), and remove excess skin. The neck lift complements the facelift by refining the neckline, addressing jowls, and eliminating sagging under the chin.

- Are bothered by sagging in the lower face or neck
- Feel your outward appearance no longer reflects how youthful you feel
- Are in good general health
- Have realistic expectations about outcomes and recovery
- Are a non-smoker or willing to quit before and after surgery
- Do not have untreated medical conditions that impair healing
Facelift and neck lift surgery can be performed on both women and men, typically between ages 30 and 70, though suitability is based more on anatomy and health than age.

An overview of the procedure
Every person is unique and may have some similarities as well as differences to others in terms of their individual recovery experience. A mommy makeover is a combination of multiple procedures so it is common to have more downtime and required healing than if these procedures were performed individually.
Day of Surgery
- You’ll return home the same day with assistance from a responsible adult or you may stay overnight at the surgical recovery center depending on the length of your surgery and any medical conditions that are present.
- Mild to moderate discomfort is expected but controlled with prescribed medication.
- A light surgical wrap or compression garment may be placed.
- If drains are used, they will be secure and easy to manage.
- Plan to rest with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
Days 1-3
- Swelling, bruising, tightness, or a heavy sensation around the jawline and neck are normal.
- You may feel groggy or sleepy as anesthesia wears off.
- Discomfort peaks within the first 72 hours but is typically well managed with medication.
- Cool compresses can help with swelling (if approved by Dr. Aimé).
- You’ll attend your first follow-up with Dr. Aimé to assess early healing.
- Drains and wraps are typically removed during this time.
- Short, slow walks around your home are encouraged to promote circulation.
- With help, you’ll begin taking light showers.
Weeks 2-4
- You’ll notice a visible reduction in swelling, though some puffiness may persist.
- You may begin gentle stretching and resume more routine home or work tasks.
- Many patients feel ready to resume light work and social interaction.
- Makeup can be applied (once cleared) to cover fading bruises and incision lines.
- Moderate walking or light exercise may be started, but still avoid bending for prolonged time, heavy lifting, or strenuous exercise.
- Incisions may appear red or slightly raised—this is normal and temporary.
Weeks 4-6
- Swelling continue to resolve; your features begin looking more refined.
- Patients often feel socially presentable and more confident in photos or public.
- You may begin moderate to strenuous exercise and submerge under water (if incisions are healed).
- It’s still important to avoid sun exposure on healing incisions—wear SPF daily while your scars mature.
After Week 6
- You’ll see continued refinement of results over the next 3–12 months.
- Scars continue to fade and blend naturally with your skin tone.
- Sensation may still be slightly altered (numbness or tingling) but will normalize with time.
- Patients often describe feeling refreshed, confident, and camera-ready.

Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve gathered answers to some of the most common questions our patients ask about this procedure. Whether you’re just starting your research or preparing for surgery, this section is here to help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
No. Dr. Aimé’s goal is to achieve natural, refreshed results — never an artificial or pulled look. She uses advanced techniques to reposition the deeper tissues (SMAS layer), not just tighten the skin. This creates a youthful but age-appropriate appearance that still looks like you.
There’s no “perfect” age. Most patients are in their 30s to 70s, but candidacy depends more on your anatomy, skin quality, and goals than on your age alone. Some people benefit from earlier intervention, while others are excellent candidates later in life.
While no surgery can stop the aging process, facelift and neck lift results typically last 5 to 10 years or more. Patients who maintain a stable weight, avoid nicotine, and practice good skincare often enjoy longer-lasting results.
